Washington Court Records

The Washington State Courts portal serves as an informational hub, breaking down the organization and different levels of courts in the state. Washington's Judicial System is organized in a clear hierarchy to efficiently manage various legal matters. At the top is the Washington Supreme Court, which reviews appeals and ensures the correct application of state law. Below, the Court of Appeals handles appellate cases, while Superior Courts serve as trial courts for significant civil, criminal, and family law cases. District and Municipal Courts address less complex issues, including misdemeanors and local ordinance violations. 

Under the Washington Public Records Act, many court records are publicly accessible, promoting transparency. However, some records may be restricted or sealed due to privacy concerns, minors, or sensitive information. Depending on the case, not all records will be available to the public.
